Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Wednesday held separate phone calls with Syrian, Turkish,Iranian and Emirati Counterparts.He discussed developments in Northern Syria and the consequences of the war on the region’s stability.
Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement on Thursday, noted that as part of Cairo’s efforts to follow up on developments in Syria, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty made a series of phone calls with his counterparts from Turkey,Iraq, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates.
The Wenesday calls witnessed counterparts discussing the outcome of the war on Syria on the region’s security and stability.
Abdelatty stressed during the call, Egypt’s unwavering support for the Syrian state, underlining the relevance of respecting Syria’s soveriegnty, unity and territorial integrity.
He further reiterated Cairo’s rejection of any incitement of sectarian divisions of any state.
It’s worth noting that the Minister as well exchanged impressions on ways to de-escalate the situation in Syria with US and Russian counterparts.
The Syrian civil war is an ongoing multi-sided conflict in Syria involving various state-sponsored and non-state actors.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Thursday, The ongoing fight led to the killing of 727 people, including 111 civilians and 311 from “Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham”, 60 from the Turkey-backed National Army factions, and 220 members of the regime forces.
