Known as a pattern of behavior in any relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner, be it is physically sexually, emotionally, psychologically or economically, domestic violence, has for years existed in the society. Constituting a major problem, it has lead to the death a individuals, with majority being women. It is the case of the popular Nigerian gospel artist, Osinachi Nwachukwu, author of the hit song, « Ekueme » who died as a result of the domestic violence she endured, through out her married life. Since her death, the Christian community, particularly in Nigeria is in consternation. They have taken to social media, decrying the deplorable conditions she went through which before dieing. In a bid to fight therefore against domestic violence, and particularly in churches, activists have multiplied moves on social media, calling for the stop of the domestic violence, especially within the Christian community
