Less than 24 hours after the appointment of a new prime minister, Burkinabe authorities have unveiled the members of the new government. The 24 member cabinet appointed on Sunday will replace that dissolved alongside the dismissal of Apollinaire De Tambela.
Burkina Faso’s military government has unveiled the appointment of a 24-member cabinet after Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo was appointed prime minister of the transition.
The Formation of new government was made known through a presidential decree on December 8 following the dismissal of Apollinaire Joachim Kyelem de Tambela, and his government dissolved on Friday, as per a decree said on Saturday.
The new premier of the west African country was the communication minister and spokesman of the previous government.
As of now there is no reason that was given for the dismissal of Tambela, who was appointed interim prime minister after the military leader Ibrahim Traore took over power in September 2022.
One of a string of military coups in West Africa’s unstable Sahel region in recent years is spiralling insurgency plaguing most countries in the sub region.
