End of operations in the south west region of Cameroon
International humanitarian medical non governmental organisation, Doctors without borders has ceased its operations in the south west region of Cameroon. The decision that was made public on the 29th of March 2022 comes months after it had been suspended in the north west region. The lone condition that would make Doctors without borders go back on its word, it revealed will be the provision of conditions suitable for operation according to its principles.
In August 2021, Doctors without borders pulled out its team from the North West region after the Cameroon authorities had refused to lift the ban placed on it since December 2020. Added to that, many of their staff had either been arrested and detained or captured by unknown men.
