Foreign ministers of Egypt, Djibouti and Nigeria have held significant talks which centered on advancing relations.During the discussions on Sunday in Riyadh, they renewed their commitment to boost economic and political ties.
Towards enriched cooperation, the Foreign Minister of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty has met with his counterparts from Djibouti and Nigeria, Mahmoud Ali Yousif, and Yusuf Maitama Tuggar respectively.
The meeting on Sunday took place on the sidelines of a preparatory ministerial meeting ahead of an extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit to debut Monday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
While the diplomats discussed bilateral cooperation and regional issues, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s commitment to strengthening relations with Djibouti and Nigeria across all sectors. However, he pinpointed the recent progress made in the economy, political ties, trade, investment.
In Djibouti he reaffirmed the long economic, logistical and political cooperation between both nations while in Nigeria, Abdelatty underlined Egypt’s willingness to provide the necessary support to counter terrorism and extremism in the Sahel region through training programs organized by the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development.
On matters of regional peace and security, the ministers discussed collaborative approaches to coordinating positions within the African Union and mutual support for international nominations within regional and international organisations.
