Chinese and Russian forces are ready to deepen their mutual security cooperation, according to Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov.
Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov met his Chinese counterpart Zhang Youchia in China on Monday, October 14. He called for military cooperation between Moscow and Beijing, describing it as an important factor in maintaining global and regional peace and stability.
On Tuesday, October 15, Mr. Belousov stressed that Russia and China had similar views on world affairs: “Yesterday we had very substantial talks with the Minister of Defense of the People’s Republic of China, and we see that we have common views, a common assessment of the situation and a common understanding of what we need to do together.”
“We have a common history, a long common journey. We have a common history, a long common journey. We look to the future with confidence”, he declared.
The Russian defense minister stressed that it was thanks to President Xi Jinping and Russian leader Vladimir Putin that the countries had forged close relations and strategic cooperation.
