This latest update comes after an army offensive was launched on Wednesday with the RSF further pushing into Kadaru and Halfaya districts, North of Khartoum Bahri. Since then fighting has been reported in areas of central Khartoum.
Numerous agreements like the Jeddah Declaration signed on May 11, 2023, the talks in Switzerland have proven futile.
It is worthy of note that US special envoy for Sudan, Tom Perriello debuted a tour on September 29 to Kenya and Ethiopia as part of diplomatic efforts to end the conflict in Sudan. He will also engage with Sudanese refugees and civilian leaders on restoring the path to an inclusive democratic future.
