Uganda: fight against corruption Museveni to extend to district leaders
President Yoweri Kaguta MUSEVENI plans to extend his lash in the fight against corruption to other government officials like district leaders, resident district commissioners and others. He explained corruption has only put the nation in chaos.
In a bid to intensify the fight against corruption in Uganda, President Yoweri Museveni has cautioned, his whip on corruption is going to extend to other government officials including district leaders like RDCs, chief administrative officers and district chairpersons.
The president highlighted the rise in corruption at the district levels is the reason behind the failure of government projects deterring development in terms of infrastructure.
This comes at a time legislators are being picked one by one and detained on cases related to corruption and misuse of public funds.
The president added other government officials especially at district level will be dealt with especially those found to have engaged in corruption.
Joining his voice to that of the President, Buyaga West legislator Barnabas Tinkasimire called the arrest of legislators, an arrest to connect to others.
Tinkasimire called on president Museveni to be keen after investigation and take action.
This move comes as the nation was illustrated as the second fastest growing economy in the east African community by the Global Economic Prospects.
