Security chiefs from Brics member countries are concluding a meeting in St Petersburg where the Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey SHOIGU has reiterated that the cooperation between member States in terms of security was yet to be depleted. He made the remarks on Wednesday.
On the sidelines of the 14th meeting of BRICS High-Ranking Officials responsible for security matters/National Security Advisors running from September 10-12 the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergey SHOIGU has affirmed that the potential for cooperation between the BRICS countries on security is far from being exhausted.
Speaking on Wednesday he underlined « the potential for BRICS security cooperation is far from exhausted, » during the plenary session of the meeting of high representatives of the BRICS and BRICS+ countries in charge of security issues.
Similarly, in an interview with Sputnik on the sidelines of the meeting, Abdulaziz Ahmed Adem, a senior advisor to the Ethiopian National Intelligence and Security Service, stressed the importance of collaboration in addressing global security challenges.
He elucidated that « they are working together to face the challenges of the globe in national security, regional and subregional security, exchange information, help each other, cooperate and give way to multilateralism rather than unilateral actions. »
The meeting is concluding in the Russian city of St. Petersburg as per the Russian official highlights the fact that the erosion of the international security system is a threat to the sovereignty of member countries.
