Cameroonian Ph.D. holders in the diaspora have cried foul against being omitted from the ongoing selection process for the third phase of recruitment of Ph.D. holders in State Universities in Cameroon.
According to one of them, their names have been completely taken off lists, even though they had followed the necessary procedures and filed their documents ahead of the deadlines. « We submitted our files in the embassies as was mentioned in the communiqués from the Central Committee of Recruitment…, » a candidate said.
The deadline according to these candidates is on January 17, 2022. However, hearings scheduled for the candidates excluded every name which was supposed to come in from abroad. Some Universities are believed to have already ended the hearings but without the presence of any diasporan. « We have contacted the embassies, and they told us our files were transmitted to the Central Committee ahead of time, » the candidate revealed.
According to the diasporan candidates, the scheduled hearing was supposed to take into account the travel time for all potential recruits. Currently, there has been no explanation offered as to why the names of the candidates abroad have been left out. Diasporan candidates have equally opined that there may be an agenda behind it which the Central Committee of Recruitment is not aware of.
