A few hours to the 2024 G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian president Lula Da Silva has stressed that this year’s summit will be a learning platform.

He was speaking during an interview with CMG on Saturday where he shared the key topics on the agenda, including launching a global alliance to combat hunger and poverty, addressing energy transition and climate challenges, empowering women and revisiting the Bretton Woods system.
From November 18 to 19,the 2024 G20 Summit will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as the nation assumed the presidency this year.
According to the Brazilian president, the summit will be both productive and amicable. This follows a Rio de Janeiro declaration there was an increased global call for inclusion, democracy and governance reforms.
As per Brazilian foreign minister, Mauro Vieira, 19 heads of State and government, about 40,000 people from G20 countries and elsewhere are expected to attend this year’s meetings.
He noted that the bond between the two nations goes beyond trade and high-level diplomacy, underscoring the importance of cultural and interpersonal connections.
Next year, the baton of command will head to South Africa and president Cyril MATAMELA RAMAPHOSA has voiced it will be a platform to champion for the aspirations of the African continent.
