Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has resounded Egypt’s denunciation of the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, amidst an « unacceptable » global silence.
Abdelatty made these statements on Sunday during the Preparatory Meeting of Foreign Ministers for the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit set to take place in Riyadh on Monday, according pa statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The foreign minister also reiterated Egypt’s condemnation of the continuous Israeli aggression in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, emphasizing the immediate need to halt these violations. It was a platform to call on the international community to firmly look for a solution to the crisis.
He underscored Egypt’s endeavors to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and ensure unhindered access to humanitarian aid in the region, stressing that no state should remain immune to accountability and above the law.
The statement read that Minister Abdelatty emphasized that the arrogance and illusions of power will not bring about peace and security for any country, let alone the region at large.
He further stated that the only path to achieving peace in the region is for the Palestinian people to attain their full and legitimate rights, particularly the establishment of their independent state within their entire national territory based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
As it stands, Qatar has halted its role in the mediation process as far as the middle East crisis is concerned.
