In a bid to boost cooperation in the tourism sector, Ethiopia and China on Tuesday November 26 signed a bilateral agreement aimed at enhancing collaboration in tourism development, protection of wild animals and expanding cooperation in cultural exchanges.
On Tuesday November 26, Ethiopia’s Tourism Minister Selamawit Kassa and Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Chen Hai sealed a bilateral agreement aimed at enhancing cooperation in tourism development, protection of wild animals and expanding collaboration in cultural exchanges.
Minister Selamawit Kassa disclosed that “The tourism sector is one of the key sources of foreign currency in addition to its contribution to the promotion of Micro and Small Scale enterprises by creating employment opportunities to ensure sustainable development.”.
She added that the two countries have strong collaboration in tourism hospitality, fashion industry, construction and culture.
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia, Chen Hai asserted that Addis Ababa and Beijing have been enjoying a long standing development and diplomatic cooperation.
He further affirmed that the two countries will continue to deepen their relations to boost their mutual benefit in the sector.
« China and Ethiopia are countries with ancient civilizations, » he said adding that the sector is a huge potential in the socio-economic development efforts of the two countries.
