The Bamenda II council has resorted to providing potable
In the face of the ongoing water and health crisis, the Bamenda II council, headed by its mayor, Chenwi Peter, has resorted to providing potable water to inhabitants. This it has done, through the construction of boreholes in the Ntamulung, Mulang and Ntambag neighborhoods. Chenwi Peter, mayor of the Bamenda II municipality had this to say: « The council is there to serve the community. With this, we have realized that it will be good for us to give potable water like this, so that we will keep the community safe from cholera ».
The move by the Bamenda II council has left the community leaders and inhabitants with smiles on their faces as they expressed their joy and appreciation. « The Bamenda council is a vibrant council. The mayor in charge is a youth of this Cameroon, so he has the population in heart » said Amabo Peter, a community leader of Bamenda II. « With this water we will be able to wash our things and keep our environment clean and it will also help us to cook and drink clean water. » an inhabitant of Ntambag said. According to Mayor Chenwi Peter, the initiative will be extended to other areas of his municipality in time to come.
