Rwanda – South Korea : 1st Korea-Africa summit : Kagame in Seoul ahead of summit

The president of Rwanda, Paul KAGAME has arrived in Seoul, South Korea ahead of the first Korea – Africa summit billed for June 4, 2024. The summit that will witness the participation of several African leaders will center around enhancing cooperation between South Korea and the African continent.

While finding more beneficial partnerships, President Paul Kagame has arrived in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, where he will attend the first Korea-Africa Summit.

The summit billed for Tuesday, June 4, will attract delegations from African countries and related international organisations, key figures from Korean and international business communities, academia, civil society groups, press, among others.

As per the organisers, the event intends to serve as an important turning point for the two regions in significantly enhancing their pragmatic cooperation as it will connect the respective strengths of Korea and Africa.

Going by the agenda, President Kagame is expected to deliver remarks at the summit’s opening alongside other Heads of State and Government.

During the strategic visit, the president will also visit Yonsei University on the sidelines of the summit where he will be presented with an Honorary Doctorate.

The Yonsei University is a private University founded in 1885 and is among the top three Universities in Korea and is home to 178 research centers.

The Korea-Africa Summit will take place under the theme “The Future We Make Together: Shared Growth, Sustainability, and Solidarity.”It will be co-chaired by President Yoon Suk Yeol of South Korea and Mohamed El Ghazouani of Mauritania who is also the African Union Chairman.
