Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah Al Sisi is currently in BAHRAIN to take part in this 33rd Arab Summit taking place in Manama. Top of the agenda is how to resolve the Middle East crisis as well exploring opportunities for better collaboration.
Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al Sisi is currently in Bahrain to attend the 33rd session of the Arab League Council.
Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad al Khalifa received Sisi at the airport upon arrival on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Sisi’s participation in the Arab Summit in Manama reflects Egypt’s keenness to coordinate stances with Arab countries in this critical time and amid big challenges facing the Arab world.
The Israeli aggression in Gaza tops the agenda of the Arab Summit, which will kick offs on Thursday.
According to the Egyptian Presidency, Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy, Sisi’s participation in the summit comes within the framework of Egypt’s keenness to coordinate with the Arab brothers, and to unify positions and ranks, in light of the critical phase through which the Arab region is going and the enormous challenges it confronts at various levels.
The summit will extensively discuss the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, in addition to efforts to resolve the current crisis to stop the bloodshed of Palestinians and to protect the Strip from the humanitarian tragedy it is facing.
The summit will also address the situations in several Arab countries and how to restore stability in the region amidst the major crises it is facing, especially with the successive changes at the international and regional levels. In addition there will be follows up on the joint Arab efforts to support the development process for the benefit of all Arab peoples.
President Sisi is expected to hold several bilateral meetings with Arab leaders, on the sidelines of the summit, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination mechanisms
