In view of celebrations marking the 2022 edition of World Press Freedom Day, the Douala chapter of the Cameroon Association of English speaking journalists, Camasej-D on Saturday, April 16, 2022, undertook a sport walk to kick start a series of exciting and rich activities lined up ahead of the world press freedom day billed for May 3, 2022.
The 3hour sport walk which saw the participation of one of CAMASEJ-D’s partners VENTA S.A, was punctuated with two stops of physical fitness exercises supervised by two professional fitness instructors hired for the purpose.
The sport walk kicked off at 6:OOAM, at rond point Deido going through Feu Rouge Bessengue, passing through the Bessengue neighborhood spanning across the Bepanda main highway, through camtel, sic cacao to the head quarters of the national swimming federation at Cité Sic where members were treated to swimming and body fitness exercises in the gymnasium. More than 50 members of Camasej-D took part in the exercise that was led by CAMASEJ -D President, Maureen Ndih who kept encouraging members to believe in the ideals of CAMASEJ-D.
The gymnasium with ultra modern equipment and the swimming pool at the national swimming federation have been offered to Camasej-D as part of a partnership agreement between the association and the swimming federation for mutual support.
In appreciation, the executive of Camasej-D was congratulated by members for a job well done. Members as well appealed for more of such outreach programmes to keep the group up and strong. President Maureen speaking to the press announced that there are interesting activities that have been planned before and during WPFD this year.
