Currently on a state visit to Moscow, Equato- Guinean president Teodoro Obiang Nguema has revealed its readiness to host the next Russia – Africa summit. He was speaking during a meeting with His Russian counterpart, President Vladimir Putin on Thursday.

This comes as bilateral cooperation deepens between both countries with a keen focus on expanding military – technical cooperation. For his part, the Russian leadership, president Putin noted good prospects in the sector of defense in terms of cooperation between both nations. Also, president Obiang’s visit coincides with the Russian Energy week international forum.
During his speech at the Russian State Duma’s Plenary session, president Mbasogo stated that Russia can play a key role in supporting the countries of the Global South as it had contributed to the decolonization of African countries.
On the global economic front, he accentuated that the member States of the Group of 77 with the participation of the BRICS states could greatly contribute to creating a common international currency that would counter the dominance of the dollar and lead to equity in the global economy.
This visit is just another step in advancing relations that were initiated eons of years ago.
