Following deadly attacks that occurred last week in Mali, the nation’s transitional president, Col. Assimi Goita has affirmed his commitment to upgrade the nation’s fight against terrorism. He was speaking during the nation’s 64th anniversary of its independence on Sunday.
Towards a peaceful, secured and developed nation, Malian leader, Col. Assimi Goita has reiterated his zeal to step up the fight against terrorism in the country following attacks that erupted lately.
He was speaking on Sunday on the sidelines of the country’s celebration of its 64th anniversary of its independence. He emphasized that the fight against terrorism will be carried out by the joint army of the alliance of Sahel states (AES) Confederation which as of now is mali, Burkina Faso and Niger.
He used the opportunity to acknowledge the support of the military in protecting the nation despite the challenges. Col. GOITA reiterated that the attack at the Faladié gendarmerie school and the Bamako airport did undermine the morale of the troops and break the spirit of solidarity between the people and their army.
Applauding the sustained commitment of the Mali and and int’l partners, he added that the country will continue to fight the scourge with utmost determination so the nations live in peace and harmony.
