GHANA/EQUATORIAL GUINEA LEADERS EXCHANGE IMPRESSIONS ON COOPERATION

President of Equatorial Guinea and Ghanaian President-elect on December 23 met in Malabo and exchanged views on ways to deepen cooperation and friendship.It’s worth noting that the visit marks the first of Dramani in Malabo.

On Monday December 23 President-elect of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama discussed with Equatorial Guinea’s President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo specific aspects of friendship relations and cooperation uniting both countries.

The Ghanaian leader was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Diaspora, Simeon Oyono Esono and the Minister Delegate to the Presidency of the Republic, in charge of Ceremonies and Translations, Armando Dougan Champion and other key officials

 

During the meeting, Malabo’s leadership extended congratulations to his counterpart for the trust received in carrying out the historic destinies of his country.

It’s worth noting that the courtesy visit, marks Dramani’s first trip abroad.

 

Recently, both countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding following a fruitful discussion between the two countries during the state visit by Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, to the Central African country.

The cooperation among other things focuses on Technical Cooperation for the project of production and transformation of basic local tropical crops such as Cocoa, Coffee, Cassava, Pineapple, Mango, Plantain, Cocoyam and yam.

Mahama won the presidential election held on December 7 in Ghana with a result of 56.55% of the votes, a position that was aspired to by 11 other candidates, including the New Patriotic Party-NPP candidate, current Vice President Mahamudu Bawamia, who got 41.41% of the votes.
