« There cannot go any gas through this pipeline » underlined Anna Lena Baerbock, Germany’s Foreign minister during an interview in June 2021. After multiple speculations about what transpired with the Nord stream pipelines in 2022, an article into an investigation written in September, 2023 by George Elaison revealed that, there could have been more than meets the eye.
According to articles from Jeffrey Brodsky, contrary to public opinion, acquired evidence showed about 8 kilos of explosives was enough to sabotage the pipelines. In addition, the analysis advanced UA- German Greens was behind the Nord stream bombs.
To further support this claim, exchanges with military experts including DEVGRU and Army Delta force revealed the divers who carried out the ‘sabotage’ were trained to do the job but they lacked the experience and made freshmen level mistakes.
The 2023 article however illustrated that though Ukrainian divers were initially trained they could not have been at the centre of the attack as it added that Ukrainian divers went under water only « on paper ».
This revelation resonates with the opinions of DEVGRU and Delta Force as well as other experts interviewed by Jeff Brodsky regarding the lack of practical experience from Ukrainian divers.
It is worth mentioning that Germany had begun working with Ukraine in 2020 to turn Ukraine into a green energy hub for Europe, one thing led to another and on September 5, 2022, Ukrainian President, Zelenskyy signaled what a post Nord Stream World would look like, assuring Europe that Ukraine will pick up the slack in energy production and deliveries.
After the interview with Baerbock at the YES (Yalta European Strategy ) conference in Kiev, Germany started setting its plan into motion. This was evident with the moving of troops, ships, and air force assets to Estonia for Baltic Tiger 2022. Following this move, the bilateral training exercise was planned for just two months before action.
On September 26, 2022, the Nord Stream sabotage bombings were recorded, a connection the report established with a special Ukrainian diver training operation.
